Say NO to the Ince Marsh Incinerator

At present I am going through the motions of buying a house but at what cost? Will I be buying a house that will depreciate in price due to harmful gases etc being in the air. Am I in a high risk area of getting cancer. I already have asthma, will it become worse ? I am quite concerned and have only just looked into the implications of this.

oooOOOooo

I was at the meeting in our local community centre on Friday, and found the information very enlightening, but also very disturbing, and I believe that we must all pull together to block Peel Holdings plans. I have noticed that there are quite a few houses up for sale in Elton, and wonder if this is in anticipation of the incinerator plans being approved? and residents thinking; let's get out before its built. Selling your house afterwards would be an extremely difficult matter. I did have a few notes prepared regarding the environmental situation in the Netherlands, and how the Dutch are dealing with the incineration problem. But on hearing that some of our guests at the meeting were airing their views on the local MP, I decided it would be better not to mention a foreign situation at this time. However, I intend to do everything possible as a resident to fight this proposal, and wondered if you have any objection to me mentioning your website? I will write to, and contact as many organizations as possible including those in the E.U. and I have requested reports from two universities in The Netherlands on environmental pollution from Incinerators

I am a Helsby resident with three young children and am strongly opposed to the waste incinerator development. I will, of course, be writing letters of protest to the relevant people. However, I am also interested in receiving any information as to how I can support the campaign.

oooOOOooo

We strongly oppose this development, and would like to give our support when we can. we have enough pollution as it is and our village not long ago got turned up side down because of companies polluting our local land. We are sick and tired of our community being used and our children having second rate air! This is just another threat to unborn children in this area. Enough is enough! that is the opinion of our house hold.

oooOOOooo

I am totally against Peel Holdings intentions and after this email I will be sending letters to those you indicate on your website. I live in Weston village where we have had our problems with ICI in the past. Halton's health record is bad, and we were beginning to think that a cleaner future lay ahead, but now we have the threat of the largest incinerator in Europe. Our fears will be increased traffic and wind-borne fumes. Yours are far greater, but you are not alone. Keep up the fight.

oooOOOooo

NO, NO, NO! YOU KNOW ALL THE REASONS AND IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE

oooOOOooo

We dont want the Incinerator in Helsby, there is far too much traffic on Chester Road as it is, we already have a lot of air polution in Helsby along with many smells and all this Incinerator will do is make this worse.

oooOOOooo

As someone who deals day to day with waste management at all levels, I would totally fascinated to understand several things. As a small community already surrounded by a substantial amount of industry, which i must add threatening enough to require a substantial alert system through out the village, why on earth would we want to further destroy our village and marshland with further emissions ? You may say that this would be strictly monitored and regulated by the enviromental department and such bodies, but correct me if I am wrong, do we not already have a new factory just built, not complying with the regulations set down on their planning permission, but to top it, as part of that build was a state of the art emissions purifier.............that was also not installed. Also stated was that these things were specified in order to reduce any impact on the enviroment to the village and the marsh. So......why.....do we want a huge waste recovery plant/incinerator on our doorstep ?................WE DONT !! As an additional slap to the face, there are young and old families in this village that have not been here long, let alone just got onto the housing market. Speaking for myself and most of you, but especially new home owners, what a blow to have purchased your new home, to now realize you are in £20,000 worth of negative equity. Are they going to compensate us for this ? Because of the size of this village, should it not be the time we were looking at DE-COMMISIONING unused and dangerous plants and improving that asthetics of such a small area?, not considering more, and congesting our restricted roads even further. Waste comes with a whole host of issues, right down to the basics, rats, leaching fluids to land and streams, air born emissions, spillages, traffic (even more emissions) health and safety issues, this is just the tip pardon the pun, of the iceberg. Considering the present day enviromental authorities have clamped down and shut many of out disposal sites, compensate new regulations though additional disposal costs, how come we end up with the threat of a new one, are we as a village too small to deserve a standard of living, or are we just so un-gratefull for not welcoming this wonderfull gift to reduce unemployment....arent we so selfish eh, not to worry, we have a good national health service to deal with our complaints of ill health, i believe they have nothing better to do at our local hospital anyway ! In basic terms....we have had enough, we have enough industry right on our doorsteps, we DO NOT want any additional threats to our enviroment or families health...............this is our homes and health you are messing with that takes a lifetime to achieve, dont destroy it for us when im sure a more suitable plots, linked to a mainstream motorways and away from housing. As stated above, the new factory buit was not done so to the specification required, and as part of that trial it was stated the specifications were put in place " to reduce any affect on the delicate marshland enviroment", and is now in the hands of the goverment. That itself highlights the breach and scale of misconduct, so again.......why do we want more industry ?? especially of this kind ???......maybe we should be asking the goverment why this should even be considered when in no doubt it will have further impact

oooOOOooo

Not another incinerator, the idiots already tried to put in a proposal for one nearly outside our house for clinical waste. Thank God the council saw sense and blocked the damn thing, it was going to be built on the main entry road into Warrington, but now this. I was going to buy this council house but if they plan on building an incinerator how on earth am I going to sell it? this house will be worth even less than its discount value
